The Last Shuttle Launch

Nisheet and I were lucky enough to travel to Florida to see the last shuttle launch. My good friend Allison is amazing and got us onto the space center and patiently answered a million of our questions about the shuttle. Allison and her fiancé, Pete, also let us stay at their apartment, took us to Disney, and taught Nisheet how to surf! It was one of the best weekends ever!

On the day of the launch, we had to get up super early and drive to the space center. I shouldn’t complain though since poor Allison had to work the entire night before and still managed to stay awake and enjoy the launch with us. There was a TON of traffic and sooo many people had already set up their chairs and blankets for the wait. We got to drive past all of them and onto the space center. So exciting!

After the last shuttle launch, Pete and Allison took us to a really neat pizza place, and we got to see Ryan (Allison’s little brother). I haven’t seen him in years!!! He sure has grown up. And for dessert, we went to Jeremiah’s which is the Best Place Ever. It is itlian ice layered with soft serve ice cream. YUMMM

Disney:

Allison’s cousin, Riley, works at Disney, and he took us to all 4 parks in one day. It was a very tiring day, but sooo worth it.

Beach Day:

For our last full day in Florida, we decided to head to the beach. On the way there, we stopped for lunch and were lucky enough to see a SRB being brought in.

After a fun filled day at the beach, we stopped a great taco place for dinner. Nisheet was in heaven because they had a million different hot sauces for him to try.

Nisheet and I caught the early bird flight back to Chicago the next morning so that I could fit in an almost full day at work.
