Winter Travel Destination Guide

Cold Weather Destinations

Aspen, Colorado – Located in the gorgeous Colorado Rockies, Aspen is a resort town filled with high-end restaurants, trendy boutiques, and five-star hotels. Also, there are an abundance of double diamond slopes for non-stop world-class skiing and snowboarding action.

Canadian Railway – Love the breathtaking winter scenery but don’t necessarily like bundling up for the cold? Check out the Canadian Railway and get the scenery you having been dreaming of. They have packages you can book that include everything from food, to airport transportation, to a day at the spa in whichever Canadian town you happen to be stopping in.

Iceland – You might not be inclined to go to Iceland in the winter, but think again. You won’t want to miss seeing the northern lights from a steamy hot spring. For those who like to be pampered, you may want to stay at Hotel Ranga where they will call you if the lights appear and provide you with blankets and special viewing benches.

Matterhorn – This is one of the most famous peaks in the Alps, so who wouldn’t want to ski here? Check out the car-free resort town of Zermatt in Switzerland for a place to stay.

Prague – Prague is currently one of the hottest (not temperature wise!) to visit, and it isn’t a summer only destination. The cold weather doesn’t hold back the the clubbers and museums goers, and the snowy streets just add to the charm and romanticism of the city.

Quebec City – This city keeps on living to the max even in the coldest part of winter. In fact, the even celebrate their freezing temperatures with a winter carnival including parades, snow sculptures, and the ice palace.

Warm Weather Destinations

Disney World – Disney World is the ultimate theme park getaway. Along with 4 parks and great weather year round, this magical world also has Disney Springs which is full of theaters, entertainment venues, shops, and restaurants.  (Check out our Magic Kingdom blog post)

Florida Keys – The Florida Keys is the perfect place to relax, unwind, and forget about the nasty, cold winter. Stretch out on one of the many beaches, go parasailing to see the beautiful blue water, or go snorkeling and watch the colorful fish and coral.

Miami – Miami keeps partying year round thanks to its warm climate and sandy beaches. Checkout South Beach for the hottest restaurants and world-famous art deco architecture.

New Zealand – New Zealand is an adventurer’s paradise, and since it is in the opposite hemisphere, our winter is their summer. Try rafting the exhilarating Rangitike, and if you tire of that, there are always hiking trails and caves to explore and discovering the Hobbit’s shire.

Sydney – With over 300 days of sunshine every year, it is the perfect city escape to get rid of your winter blues. And, the activities in Sydney are endless with everything from beaches and boat rides, to architecture and culture, to food and clubbing.

Thailand – Sure, Thailand has large bustling cities such as Bangkok, but it also has quiet coastlines and rain forests begging to be explored. For a pampered, tame adventure, check out Elephant Hills where you can spend your nights  in a luxury tent and your days mingling with elephants.

US Virgin Islands – The USVI seems a world apart from the rest of the US. Even in the winter your adventurous heart can be content with activities such as scuba diving among the vibrant coral reefs, snorkeling with sea turtles, kayaking in crystal clear water, or hiking in the national park.
